The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Has Passed Away in an LA Car Crash
The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California he was 55 years old.
Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.
The influential video game developer passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"This is a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
