Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US performer Finn, who appeared in popular television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
